Observing the indulgence shown towards massive BLM protests by previously lockdown-absolutist Democrat governors and mayors, actor and Twitter gadfly James Woods remarked that we could expect an imminent outbreak of sick leftists or we would realise once and for all that lockdowns were a con. Win-win, you might say.

Sheep that they are, Australia’s leftists dutifully had their marches and shook their little fists en masse. Of course, Australian authorities, who just a fortnight before had arrested anti-lockdown protesters and banned citizens from visiting their mums on Mother’s Day, went along with it. Lo and behold, a week or so later, there’s been a spike in infections.

But it’s still nowhere near a “second wave”.

Still no “Second Wave”. The BFD.

That hasn’t stopped the leftist governments who allowed the protests to go ahead scrambling to cover their arses.

A fourth Black Lives Matter protester has tested positive to coronavirus in Victoria amid the state’s “concerning” virus spike, but they are not believed to have contracted COVID-19 at the demonstration.

The demonstrator, who attended the rally in Melbourne’s CBD on June 6, was linked to a virus outbreak at retail store H&M Northland.

Victorian Health Minister Jenny Mikakos said two cases linked to the retail outlet had been detected overnight, taking the virus cluster’s total to four.

Except that there’s something a bit whiffy about that excuse.

However, the protester – H&M’s third infected staff member – did not work at the store while infectious[…]

Victoria has recorded 16 new cases of coronavirus, taking the state’s COVID-19 tally to 1847 after five cases were removed due to duplication.

Victorian Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton today said he did not believe the Black Lives Matter protest had contributed to the state’s virus spike.

Well, he would say that, wouldn’t he? After health officials lent their endorsement to the protests, they’re not about to admit that they screwed up. Again.

On the other hand, if tens of thousands of people can cram together in Australian cities with no outbreak, then the whole lie of lockdowns is brutally exposed.

Of the 16 new cases, six were linked to known outbreaks, four were detected in hotel quarantine, five were from routine testing and one case remains under investigation, Ms Mikakos said.

Ms Mikakos[…]said the state government was “very concerned” about the level of community transmission.

Must have been all those reckless, negligent anglers, obviously.
