I recently wrote, with regard to the “Defund the Police” mania sweeping the American left: go ahead. Do it.

Well, guess what? It’s already happened. And it’s panning out exactly as you’d expect.
A motley crew of Antifa and BLM types have colonised (appropriated, stolen…choose your adjective) a six-block area of Seattle (of course), complete with the sort of walls that were immoral until, well, yesterday apparently, and declared it an autonomous country named “Chaz”. It’s a leftist’s dream: a collective with no capitalism and no police.
No prizes for guessing what’s happened.
Seattle’s new “autonomous zone” – a six-block area established by protesters after the police and National Guard pulled out of city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood – now has a ‘heavily-armed’ warlord, and he’s already enforcing his streets.
Soundcloud rapper Raz Simone and his entourage have claimed the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) as their territory – and have already been filmed regulating when a man wouldn’t stop spraying graffiti over an urban art installation, telling him “We are the police of this community now!”
By “regulating”, of course, they mean delivering a Rodney King-level beating.
The leftists are shocked, shocked, I tell you, that their little communist experiment is turning out like…well, like every other communist experiment in history.
One of them took to Twitter (on an iPhone no doubt: funny how communists are only too happy to subscribe to the biggest corporations in the world) to complain.
I am exposing a man who beats women, forces them into sex work and punishes them if they do not obey. Brb. And yes, @RazSimone, I’m talking about you.
Faster than you can say “Venezuela”, they’ve also run out of food. Journalist Andy Ngo reports:
72 hours after the establishment of the #CapitalHillAutonomousZone, there are apparently already food shortages.
“The homeless people we invited took away all the food at the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.”
“We need more food to keep the area operational. please if possible bring vegan meat substitutes, fruit, oats, soy products, etc. – anything to help us eat.”
Maybe they should ask Venezuelans for tips on surviving on a socialist diet. I’m sure there are plenty of cats and rats around.
“Gotta say I’m impressed, it usually takes Marxists at least 3-4 months to achieve starvation,” said one Twitter user.
