A reader sent in an interesting idea yesterday evening.

Stuff has increasingly prevented any comments on lots of articles.

Maybe a new BFD column could be headed; “We allow you to make comments on Stuff articles when they don’t”.

Then list a few headlines (with links) that they put up and then let the BFD commenters go hard at it.

What do you think dear readers? Every time comments are closed on a controversial MSM article, readers can send a link to The BFD and we can publish the headline and the opening paragraph along with a link so that readers can comment to their heart’s content on the article here.

I am willing to give it a go to see if there is interest in the idea.

The first article for our trial run is:

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she’s “angry” at the Warehouse Group for proposing to cut up to 1080 jobs.

Ardern on Tuesday morning said the Kiwi retailer had traded on an image of being “for the community”, yet was proposing to cut jobs as other businesses worked hard to keep staff on.
