Random Impertinent Questions for the Government: Could We Have Answers Not Slogans, Please?
Cruise Ships as Floating Isolation Wards?
Right now there are four cruise ships in Auckland. They are all empty – no passengers. They are the La Laperouse, Silver Muse, Bremen and Noordam. Noordam has been moored off Whangaparaoa since Wednesday last week. La Laperouse also; until Saturday night when it moored at Queens Wharf along with Bremen. Silver Muse is moored at Princes Wharf.
Reputable Government sources, including one big-mouth minister, state that these have been leased by the Government as emergency floating isolation wards.
Why has the public not been informed of this?
They are obvious to any journalist who cares to stroll down to the waterfront.
Why is this not being reported?
Unreported COVID-19 Cases?
VERY good police sources tell me that there are ten cases of Covid-19 at Lower Hutt Hospital. Apparently they are all from the Wairarapa.
Why are these cases not being reported?
Chillers Being Delivered to Hospitals
Those same sources say that there have been a whole lot of refrigerated containers stored at the Police College and three have just been moved to Hutt Hospital.
Why is this?
Rapid Hiring of Ex-Police to Bolster Frontline Staff
The same sources say that ex-police are rapidly being recruited at high temporary rates to provide additional staffing. I have seen a Police memo to that effect (Note to over zealous Police who want to try and shut down the media, this memo is not in my possession):
Why have the public not been told about rapid escalation of Police numbers?
The word amongst politicians isthat Jacinda Ardern‘s little show on Saturday was nothing other than conditioning. It was designed, complete with Michael Joseph Savage‘s looming portrait, to portray a wartime footing. To try to calm the population as they try to drip-feed cases so as to not alarm people. It clearly isn’t working; people are already shutting down. The thinking is that the Government is trying to limp through to the financial year’s end and get as close to the school holidays as possible before going to Level Four.
Why is the government not telling us the truth?
Enough of the childish war-footing briefings by-passing the media and start telling us the truth. We can handle it.
