In a recent Stuff article dated March 27th, Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield is quoted as saying “there were 37 individuals who had now recovered” from the coronavirus.

He also noted in the article that the definition of “recovered” was getting over symptoms and staying symptom-free for a 14 day period.

Here’s the difficulty for those of us who are awake: if we go back 14 days in New Zealand from March 27th (the date of the article) to March 13th, New Zealand only had 5 coronavirus cases, according to officials.

Something doesn’t add up.

How can 37 individuals recover when only 5 were sick in the first place?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think we’re being told the full story here. Either that or Dr Bloomfield failed primary school maths!
