The legacy media have spent the last couple of weeks trying to scare everyone into believing that Monday’s gun rights rally in Virginia was going to a hotbed of violent, racist, toxic white masculinity. Now that the event’s gone off with not a skerrick of violence, as thousands of Americans (of all races) gathered to peacefully protest, the legacy media are still spinning for all they’re worth.

NBC News reporter Gabe Gutierrez was slammed for tweeting a video Monday that he said showed the pro-gun protesters outside the Virginia Capitol chanting, “We will not comply.”

In fact, the protesters in Richmond could clearly be heard in the clip reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

To the media-elite, wedded to their globalist dogmas, any skerrick of patriotism is indistinguishable from actual fascism.

Conservative Twitter commentators quickly pointed out the error. Many accused Gutierrez of trying to falsely portray the rally as threatening.

“It’s the Pledge of Allegiance,” said National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch […]“You know we can watch the video too, right?” asked social media strategist Caleb Hull.

The Comfortably Smug Twitter account joked: “Journos are confused because they’ve never heard or recited the pledge of allegiance.”

This isn’t the first time that Gutierrez, like much of the legacy media, has tried to smear the Virginia Second-Amendment activists.

Matt Whitlock, a senior adviser to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, was among those who recalled that Gutierrez’s fellow NBC News reporter Ben Collins a day earlier falsely called the event a “white nationalist rally” in a since-deleted tweet.

“At some point this starts to feel like a concerted effort by major media companies to smear,” Whitlock said.

You don’t say? Just ask the BFD’s own Dieuwe de Boer.

In his own defence, Gutierrez responded that he had heard many different slogans, including “We will not comply”. It’s telling, though, that what is in fact a deeply American sentiment, one which the Founding Fathers would have heartily approved, is posited by the left-media as some sort of scary, right-wing fascism.

The run-up to Monday’s rally has featured a number of dire warnings by the news media and authorities about a supposed threat of racist violence.

Black protesters excoriated the legacy media for their “race” lies.

“Every news piece you’ve seen this weekend, they’ve always brought up the issue of race, as thought its nothing but white rednecks and hillbillies out here that care for the Second Amendment,” said the man.

“When actually, black Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, Americans, in general, care about the 2nd Amendment,” the man continued. “I work at a gun store part-time and I can’t tell you the number of customers I see of all races, all colors, all creeds, who care about the 2nd Amendment and who just want to peaceably, live their lives, enjoy their rights, and their 2nd Amendment.”

But, since when do the facts ever bother the legacy media any more?
