Born today in 1926, Eddie “Guitar Slim” Jones songwriter, singer and guitarist. A major influence on rock as he was among the first to deliberately use distortion on his guitar. Acknowledged as an influence on Buudy Guy, Albert Collins, Frank Zappa and Jimi Hendrix.

Born today in 1946, Christopher “Ace” Kefford singer and bassist with The Move.

Today in 2007, the remaining members of Led Zeppelin played their first full concert in 19 years as part of the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert. Jason Bonham the son of drummer John Bonham taking his father’s place.
