It was disappointing to read so many on this site laying into Bridges with National’s anti-gang policy. Make no mistake, I have little to no time for Bridges and think he is bloody arrogant. Surely he must see the damage he is doing to his party, yet still won’t stand down.

That being said, this is a policy that resonates strongly and whether National has the stones to implement it or not, something needs to be done – and done soon!

The audacity of Davis to be blagging the policy on Monday after it was he who was basically responsible for the tide of these scumbags coming back into the country seems to be lost on many – in particular, the media! How about Labour and Little’s soft on criminals approach, also allowing them the vote – once again all enabled by, yep, you guessed it, Mr know everything Peters who some here still think National should try and partner!

People were ringing in yesterday living in abject fear of leaving their own house. Others witnessed a gang member brazenly breaking into a car to steal a radar detector in daylight – and the police did nothing! One caller yesterday stated that based on the Californian experience our fledgling P epidemic’s crime wave is only the tip of the iceberg!

So sure, be annoyed with National for their zero-carbon support, gun confiscation and other bloody stupid policy etc, but credit where credit is due. Just criticising with no logical alternative is the domain of the left. At least they have finally stated what we are all thinking. I don’t know how this will or can be fixed, but the current do nothing approach is rapidly exacerbating the problem!
