Well, well, well, it looks like the Princess of Kindness’n’Compassion has some ‘splainin’ to do.

When Australian broadcaster Alan Jones suggested that Australian PM Scott Morrison should “shove a sock down her throat” when he met with his New Zealand counterpart, Jacinda Ardern was quick to jump on the “offended” stump and rally her armies of Twitterati.

Jones immediately offered an apparently sincere apology, as well as generously praising Ardern for responding “superbly and amusingly”.

Except that now it’s emerged that Ardern has been somewhat less than relentlessly posserdive in the past.

Sky News has unearthed a personal attack – launched by Jacinda Ardern – against Alan Jones in a 2012 tweet where she referred to the broadcaster as a “git” and claimed he was “intensely disliked”.

The nature of the criticism has stumped New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters who has defended Mr Jones in an exclusive interview with Sky News.

Ms Ardern would not comment when Sky News contacted her office but Mr Peters said the comment was out of character.

“It’s very unlike Jacinda to do that … you’ll have to agree, I’ve never heard of that sort of thing before,” he told Sky News.

So, nasty ol’ Alan Jones immediately apologises for a comment which he says was misconstrued and “clumsily presented”. Ardern gets caught out spouting bile like a high school mean girl and ducks for cover behind her deputy.

So much for “kindness” and “relentless poserdivvidy”.
