Ok, if anyone can let me know quite how we got to this in our society, please let me know. Apparently, the internet is blowing up in response to an obnoxious little ten-year-old who refused to do her homework!
It seems that poor wee Rhythm Pacheco from Utah took offence to one of the questions in a recent workbook, and apparently we all have to praise her for her wokeness.
Well, not me. I am the progeny of two teachers. Lots of my family are teachers. Hell I even went to Teachers Training College myself. (Well I mean I started it. I got as far as October of my first year and realised that this was definitely something I did not want to do so went and built swimming pools instead!)
How is it that this little so and so with a Silly First Name, is feted as some sort of Greta-esque, woke, God Child just because she thinks it’s ok to be “rood” to her teacher? (I wonder if her middle name is ‘Method’?)
Of course, any decent teacher would have returned it looking like this.
(Of course, it is entirely possible that she is expressing superior intellect by using an archaic land measurement descriptor for a quarter acre, but I may be stretching things there, and if she did, she would still get an ‘F’ for being completely incorrect in its usage!)
Wouldn’t it be nice if people just got over themselves and stopped pushing these ridiculous ideas on their kids?
A ten-year-old shouldn’t be worrying about being offended on behalf of some imaginary girls with made up weights in a maths worksheet. She should be worrying about pretty ponies, rainbow unicorns and glitter.
Now Mum we need to have a wee chat about that single-use paper cup you’re holding!
