On 1st October the NZ Herald ran this headline
Two unborn babies die after mothers catch measles.
Identifying foetuses as babies is a vile, sexist attack on women. It is not for the old white male editor of a newspaper to decide if a foetus is a baby, it is the woman with the foetus who decides.
A foetus becomes a baby if and when the woman decides it is a baby. That decision will never be made by the editor of a rag like the New Zealand Herald.
One can only hope that the Herald will soon have a female editor, someone with enough brains to acknowledge and respect a woman’s right to either kill a foetus or have a baby.
